CLEAN & OVERHAUL

Over a period of time, even with regular tuning and maintenance, the organ will build up dust and dirt which can impair the smooth working of the organ’s action and ‘speech’, making it less reliable.

Depending on the environment, the organ is recommended to be cleaned every 15-25 years.  When a Tuner visits the church they will create a report if they think that the organ is in need of a clean and overhaul rather than just a simple tune.

When the organ is dismantled for its cleaning we can then rectify the faults which can’t be accessed when a simple tune is being performed. This will give the organ new ‘brightness’ and many more years of service.
