Design

The new layout has the Pedal upperwork, Choir, Great and Swell soundboards all orientated in the same north/south direction on diatonic chests.
The only difference to the present layout is that the Choir organ runs east/west on chromatic chests into the chair case, and the Pedal upperwork is scattered all around the organ on unit chests and lacks unity.
The Solo (on two levels as before) and remainder of the Pedal organ remain in the same positions below the south screen parapet.
The Pedal Bourdon units will remain on the stairs as there is no space inside the case to bring it in. This lack of space is prevalent in a lot of screen organs (Exeter, York, Ripon etc.) where there is a lot more organ squeezed inside the case than would have been taken up by the original instruments, which were much smaller.
The Tuba remains in the same place as before, between the Swell and Great inside the main case.

The internal layout of the soundboards inside the case will be revised.  The manual slider chests will be renewed, the tables and upperboards being grooved in the traditional manner.
